Frequently Asked Questions
Will gel polish damage my natural nails?
Your natural nails are made up of many layers. When gel or acrylic products are applied they adhere to these layers. If you attempt to pick, bite or pull the product off you most definitely will do damage. To prevent such damage these products should be removed by a qualified professional.
I have had nail enhancements/gel polish in the past and now my natural nails keep breaking. Why is this happening?
Nail enhancements and gel polish can dehydrate your natural nail. It is essential that you keep your nails hydrated by regularly applying nail protect oil or hand moisturiser. This prevents your natural nails from becoming brittle.
What is a callus peel?
This is a quick, four step system that gives results that you can see right away. The skin soft peel (patch) gently penetrates into the epidermal layer of the foot softening the callus to enable dead skin to be gently scraped off and then buffed. No blades or harsh filing techniques are used. The treatment is then followed by a soothing, conditioning moisturiser which leaves you with sandal ready feet.
How do I prepare for a pedicure treatment?
Make sure you have a pair of flip flips ready. Enclosed shoes or even some sandals may smudge and ruin your newly polished toenails. You must inform your therapist if you are currently suffering from athlete's foot, a fungal nail infection or verrucas.
Should I get Lash Extensions or try a Lash Lift?
Lash extensions are designed to create a longer, fully lash look. The treatment can take between 1 and 3 hours. A synthetic lash is bonded to each of your natural lashes allowing your technician to tailor the final look. After 2 or 3 weeks, as your natural lashes grow and shed, you will require an infill appointment to maintain the full appearance of your lashes. Alternatively, the extensions can be removed by your technician at any time.
Lash lifts are like a perm for your natural lashes (but without the use of harsh chemicals). Your lashes will be lifted and curled from the root to make them appear longer while the tint darkens the lashes to make them look thicker. The results are instant and last between 6 to 8 weeks! No maintenance is required.
